With the Help of All, I am Fabulous

Truly, I feel great - so accomplished, so very full of myself!

With the help of All, I am invincible. But no. I don’t mean with the help of all of you, please don’t take offense.

I mean with the help of All detergent, I have done my laundry!

I have transformed an area full of baskets of dirty clothes all rumpled up and mashed together. The hamper area is immaculate now.

I have washed the clothes, dried the clothes, folded the clothes and put them away. No I don’t iron. Don’t push me.

But I feel so accomplished. I have completed a chore – excellently, I might add. The proof is there. It is done. No one can say, “Oh a sock is dirty.” No! It is not.

The interesting thing to me is why do I take such pride in completing a simple task? Do you, as well?

I have had a successful entrepreneurial career in both the private sector and with non-profits. I have helped a large number of people. Yet, these successful endeavors nag at me. I say to myself, “Oh, I could have helped a client more then.” “Oh, I should have been able to raise more money for the cause.”  “Oh I should have provided more information that would have helped that family.” Any amateur psychologist knows that coulda, shoulda, woulda are not good words to have in your head.  Nonetheless, I am never satisfied with myself. And do tell me why I have not had my book published yet?? What is the problem with me?!

Ah….but the laundry, the laundry. The laundry cannot be doubted. It is done. It is clean. The job is completed.

Until tomorrow, when the hamper will begin to fill again. But I know beyond a doubt, I know that with the help of my ally, the efficient All, I will conquer the dirty piles once again and accomplish something which cannot be refuted by my incorrigible brain.

Ha!   The clothes shall rise again in cleanliness….and I will be an accomplished woman!
